Getting Up

Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure, released in 2006, was the first video game from Marc Ecko Entertainment. Prior to Getting Up, nothing merged the rich, edgy graffiti culture of New York City with the exploding gaming scene. The player takes on the persona of Trane (voiced by hip-hopper Talib Kweli), a graf beginner—a “toy,” as the heads would dub him—who wanders the city and learns the craft from real-life masters like Futura and Shepard Fairey.
Touted in every major publication, from the New York Times to Mass Appeal, Getting Up is a revolutionary game that pays tribute to the phenomenon of graffiti, which fed Marc’s earliest creative endeavors. The game was also awarded a VMA by MTV for Best Video Game Soundtrack and named Best Wireless Game by Spike TV.
